What can I say, a little patch of heaven right in the heart of Gungahlin right across when you walk out of the main entrance of Coles, you see one of the best cafes in Canberra and I stand by my statement The food was incredible, tasty, full of flavour, made with love The coffee, not to hot, perfect to start drinking straight away No wait for a table The owner really does care about his customers and especially his team because of the moral in the place, not one single frown Atmosphere was relaxing, it made me feel welcomed, and I will be so using this as my everyday cafe when ever I need a coffee and breakfast Thank you team at eighty/twenty the cafe ~ Bohdi K

I recently visited this charming cafe and it was truly a delightful experience from start to finish. I ordered their French toast, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly made, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. It’s definitely one of the best I’ve had! The coffee was also amazing, brewed to perfection by a skilled barista ☕. What truly made the visit special, though, was the amazing staff. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The service was top-notch—efficient, warm, and genuinely kind. You can feel that they care about their guests and take pride in what they do. Also, don’t miss out on their desserts—they’re just as good as they look! If you’re in Gungahlin, I highly recommend stopping by Eighty Twenty Café. I am a big fan of Eighty Twenty at Braddon and so happy to see they’ve opened a new branch here at Gungahlin. Tried their free coffee today and it was good as always. 5 stars to support this Canberra region local business for their reputation and grand opening of new branch. Will revisit, try different items on their menu, then adjust rating if needed. Revisit today (2025-07-05) and try their grilled fish (barramundi). It’s very delicious and I was most impressed by the freshness of all the ingredients. I hope they keep on making good food with fresh vegetables and meat which is, in my opinion, the core of quality dining. Revisiting on 12 July 2025, a sunny Saturday, I felt like my body needs a nutritious boost after moving house. So I ordered a nutritious bowl and it was as fantastic as always - I meant - fresh, whole and unprocessed foods, with all antioxidants and fibre that I love. Good job. ~ Sam T

The sticky chai was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The burrito bowl was a standout – vibrant with beetroot, brown rice, chickpeas, avocado, grilled chicken and slaw – not only healthy but absolutely delicious. The nachos were another highlight, generous in size and well worth the price. A wonderful spot with food that’s both fresh and satisfying. There are three tables packed away next to the kitchen area, which consisted of 3 plain white walls which a painting or picture would add to the atmosphere. ~ Jasmin T

The food and the staff at Gungahlin's 80/20 are fantastic. My wife and i are regulars here not only because the coffee and food are great but also because there are genuine vegan and gluten free options that are delicious. Its so good to have somewhere welcoming with great food up in Gungahlin and right next to the light rail and across from Coles too so convenient :) The vegan breakfast burger is particularly tasty and generously portioned. ~ Shell K

Brilliant versatility of the menu, including various vegetarian options. Specifically the hazelnut chocolate drink was a new version of the conventional hot chocolate, being creamy, perfectly sweet and nutty. The avocado toast with mushrooms and the vegan buckwheat waffles are definitely a fantastic hit! We’ve visited EightyTwenty in Barton and Braddon before, and we’re so happy to have one now close to us in Gungahlin! It’s such a cozy spot, and the vibe is just lovely. We’ve tried various dishes and everything’s been pretty good. We especially love their green nourish bowls — so fresh and tasty — and the coffee on the menu is always perfect. I went to have a free coffee and even though it was very long wait service was very quick and coffee was amazing, perfect temperature and taste. It was a much needed caffeine post my night shift. I also noticed that one of the staff member even dropped the coffee to the customer who was in light rail. Really loved the place and service and the taste of coffee. ~ Anjana S

Honestly the best eggs Benny in Canberra. Comes with avocado as standard, which I love. I come every weekend (sometimes multiple times!) to eat, drink amazing (strong!) coffee and write. The people behind the counter remember my order and ask about me and are really lovely. I’m so glad they opened so close to home. ~ Jen C

Had a great experience at this spot. The coffee was decent, but the breakfast was definitely the highlight — fresh, tasty, and satisfying. Dessert was just okay, nothing special. Had a wonderful experience at the cafe with my friends on Friday morning. The service is very prompt. The cafe staff is also very friendly. I recommend their matcha latte. As a matcha lover, I struggle finding good matcha lattes in Canberra. This one hits the spot. The matcha quality is great, I quite enjoyed it. ~ Kanak S

They offered free coffee for a week to celebrate their opening, and the coffee was absolutely amazing — so good that we went back every single day! Despite the crowd, the staff were incredibly friendly and everything seemed so well-organised and efficient. Highly recommended! Have had matcha there the last two days and it was delicious! Despite it being extremely busy because of the free drinks for opening week, the team were so friendly when serving and managed to get the drinks out super quickly. Can’t wait to come back for breakfast soon! ~ Delaney G

Very regular coffee buyer here, and semi-regular breakfast buyer since we moved nearby. Always have had good experiences here. Unlike some other 80/20s around Canberra it's not so busy that you can get a table when you like. Good vegan options too. ~ D J
